Some people take it personally, others blame the Quality team, while others, in line with the requirements of ISO 9001, act correctly. Which group do you fall into?<\/p>\r\n<p>Para apoiar todos, que lidam com esses desafios diariamente (desperd\u00edcio, retrabalho, custo da n\u00e3o qualidade e gest\u00e3o de n\u00e3o conformidade), destacamos a import\u00e2ncia de dois requisitos da ISO 9001:2015: 8.7 &#8211; Controle de Sa\u00eddas N\u00e3o Conformes e 10.2 &#8211; N\u00e3o Conformidade e A\u00e7\u00e3o Corretiva.<\/p>\r\n<p>Let's break it down:<\/p>\r\n<h4>1 - Recording the non-conformity, root cause analysis and action plan<\/h4>\r\n<p>A non-conformity record is the initial guideline and should be drawn up to document and :<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Identify the non-conformity and the unmet requirement,<\/li>\r\n<li>Analyze the root cause (the real reason why the non-conformity happened),<\/li>\r\n<li>Draw up an action plan with corrective actions (to eliminate an identified non-conformity), corrective actions (to address the root cause) and preventive actions (to avoid recurrence of the non-conformity).<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><u>Tips on root cause analysis<\/u><\/p>\r\n<p>The root cause of a non-conformity is most often management problems. You should avoid \u201cblaming\u201d an employee for a non-conformity. Quality professionals need to have the skills and use the applicable quality tools, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/qualiexpert.com.br\/en\/5porches\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">5 whys<\/a> or Ishikawa.<\/p>\r\n<p>Some types of root cause can be: ineffective or absent communication, insufficient project requirements, changes not clearly identified, lack of experience\/competence, genuine human error even with training, use of unapproved material, incorrect storage condition, lost output record, among many others.<\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Classification of non-compliance<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>In some companies, there is a classification of non-conformities according to impact, damage to the company's image, damage to property or occupational safety (similar to the risk matrix). Remember that this is not a requirement of ISO 9001, but if it is, make sure everyone understands how to apply it.<\/p>\r\n<h4>2 - It is a non-compliant output and the customer must be informed<\/h4>\r\n<p>Activities carried out to inform the customer must be described in documented information: who, how and when the communication to the customer will be carried out, in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001: 7.4-Communication and 8.2.1 - Communication with the Customer.<\/p>\r\n<p>Keep all the evidence at hand to include in the record of non-compliance (e.g. minutes, emails). This way, you'll have all the information traceable in an organized manner.<\/p>\r\n<h4>3 - When non-compliance occurs, it's time to put on your \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/qualiexpert.com.br\/en\/systemic-thoughts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">systems thinking<\/a>\u201c<\/h4>\r\n<p>To support the necessary systemic thinking, we propose some reflections:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><u>S<\/u>and <a href=\"https:\/\/qualiexpert.com.br\/en\/risk-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">risk management<\/a> if it were better executed, would it be possible to anticipate preventive actions and avoid NC?<\/li>\r\n<li>It is necessary to update the <a href=\"https:\/\/qualiexpert.com.br\/en\/risk-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">risks and opportunities spreadsheet<\/a> after identifying this NC?<\/li>\r\n<li>The input data for the <a href=\"https:\/\/qualiexpert.com.br\/en\/analisecriticadadirecao\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">management's critical analysis<\/a> have they been updated yet?<\/li>\r\n<li>If <a href=\"https:\/\/qualiexpert.com.br\/en\/processes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">processes<\/a> were efficient, would there be a NC?<\/li>\r\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/qualiexpert.com.br\/en\/indicadordedesempenho\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">performance indicators<\/a> enough to identify the problem beforehand?<\/li>\r\n<li>It is possible to measure the <a href=\"https:\/\/qualiexpert.com.br\/en\/cost-of-damage-to-quality\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cost of non-quality<\/a>, In other words, the financial cost that the company is wasting on treating this NC?<\/li>\r\n<li>Has there been any <a href=\"https:\/\/qualiexpert.com.br\/en\/licoesaprendidas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lesson learned<\/a> about the situation?<\/li>\r\n<li>It will be necessary to draw up a <a href=\"https:\/\/qualiexpert.com.br\/en\/change-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">change management<\/a> because of this NC?<\/li>\r\n<li>Were the corrective actions to address the NC effective, i.e. was the root cause addressed?<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>\u2b50 We know that dealing with non-conformities can be a complex challenge.
